Do you love fly fishing? Want to learn more about some of the in’s and out’s of this great pastime? Are you between the ages of 10 and 16? If so, then Vise Crew is for you! Join two of our local experts for four afternoons of learning and fun as we explore the world of fly fishing and tying. We will spend lots of time on the vise learning different techniques and methods to make flies that fish won’t be able to resist!
Each afternoon will include opportunities to learn about streamside information (including entomology, ethical handling, reading water etc) as well as time to practice tying different types of flies that are sure to be go to patterns
in your box. All materials and supplies are included, however, participants are welcome to bring their own vises and tools if they would like to. Each afternoon will focus on different types of patterns:
Day 1 – February 8th (1:00-4:00) – Fly Fishing Introductions & Basic Techniques
Day 2 – February 22nd (1:00-4:00) – Fishing and Tying Streamers
Day 3 – March 7th (1:00-4:00) – Nymphs and Indicators
Day 4 – March 21st (1:00-4:00) – Dries, Hoppers and Terrestrials
To register please complete a registration form and return it to Reid’s Fly Shop by mail or in person. A $50 deposit in the form of a cheque (made payable to Reid’s Fly Shop) is required to hold your spot. This will be returned to you at the end of the second class on February 22nd.
